Greene Residents for Excellence in Education
Now (GREEN) and School Board Plan Joint Meeting to Determine Vision
for Greene County Schools
What is our vision for Greene County schools? Find out when Greene
Residents for Excellence in Education Now (GREEN) holds a joint
meeting with members of the School Board, on Monday, September 19,
at 7 p.m., at Ruckersville Elementary School. Supt. Ray Dingledine
and members of the School Board and the central office team will
be in attendance to present their vision for our county's schools
and answer questions about the schools' needs and goals. This will
be an opportunity for parents and residents of Greene County to
offer their input as to what needs should be addressed, what goals
should be set, what direction we should be taking for this school
year and beyond.
The School Board's topics for discussion will include the middle/high
school expansion project, plans for anticipated future growth, and
goals for the current school year and beyond. GREEN's agenda will
focus on specific concerns within the schools, including curriculum
and teacher training, as well as on the upcoming School Board and
Board of Supervisor elections. GREEN will present information obtained
from the Board of Supervisor candidates regarding their positions
on various issues concerning the schools. The information was obtained
through questionnaires sent to candidates and it will be distributed
to GREEN members and others interested.
GREEN is an organization of county residents who support excellence
in education for the county's children and desire to have a voice
in decisions made impacting the schools. As a pro-education organization,
one of GREEN's main goals is to present factual information to the
public regarding the school system and give those interested in
supporting quality education a voice in county government. For more
information, contact GREEN founder, Pauline Hovey at 985-xxxx or
